Saving or Backing up Video Playlists

Everytime I upgrade the Twonkymedia server module on my NAS I lose all my video playlists. The system playlists like "Recent additions", "Most watched" etc disappear as also all my customized playlists. This is rather frustating! Is there any way to save or back these up before doing an upgrade? My NAS runs Linux and I am not too familiar with that OS
