Trancode Music and Video Options Not Available (Greyed-out)

Hello To All,

Brand new Twonky Server user here. I just purchased Twonky Server V6.0 and installed it on my Windows Home Server PP3. I was able to configure everything fine EXCEPT for the transcoding options. The JPEG transcoder is selectable but the music and video transcode options are not selectable (Greyed out). I can find nothing on the webs or in the docs that tell me how to get this enabled or why they are greyed out. Has anyone else had this problem or offer any advice?

Hi Tempest,
I've had the same problems on the Linux installation. I found a solution in the incorrect path to the ffmepg installation. I guess for windows you have to check, that FFMPEG is installed. The default configuration in the twonky installation where twonky ffmepg expects is on C:\ffmpeg. Have a look for the file cgi-bin\ffmpeg.location. In this file you can configure default path to ffmpeg.

Hope it works.

Regards
Olimar

I'm in the same boat. Just purchased an Xbox 360 and need to be able to transcode media if at all possible. I have updated my ffmpeg.location file in cgi-bin but these transcoding checkboxes are still greyed-out.

Any ideas?

Did you restart TwonkyMedia Server after making the change?

Note that ffmpeg is only for transcoding videos, not anything else.

I have the same problem :( Only the JPEG option is not greyed out.

I am in Linux and have set the ffmpeg.location file to point to /usr/bin/ffmpeg which is where I have ffmpeg installed.

I have restarted my machine multiple times and still the options are greyed out :(

Any ideas? Anyone?

Thanks
Kevin

Try just:
/usr/bin
