iTunes playlists

Post by szrobi » Tue Dec 07, 2010 10:19 am

Well, after using Twonky server for 2 years I still have an unresolved issue - fortunately with a workaround:

Config:
PC - Win7 64
Player - PS3
media on PC is managed/organised with iTunes

Except for Twonky server version 4.4.18, none of the other versions are able to handle the iTunes properly (5.x, 6.x). After install/rebuild the server appears to process the play lists, these seem correct on the PC (browsing them with the web front end), but opening the playlist on PS3 shows only a limited number of titles (usually the same pieces). Reboot, reinstall, rescan, rebuild, manual delete and rebuild .. do not help. Installing 4.4.18 solves it immediately.

Any advice ?
thanks

The Linux version of twonky has a bug that screws up the file paths. The result is the playlists show up but they are empty. I wrote my own script to process iTunes playlists. It works with v6.x. It should run on Windows too. You can check it out here: 6.01 Not Parsing iTunes Playlists Correctly - http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.ph ... 60&start=0
