There are some NAS builds of TS 6.0.31 here: http://www.twonkyforum.com/downloads/6.0.31-RC6/

Technically these are still a release candidate, so you might want to wait until the final build is there. I put them up early because they fix so many problems.

We hope to have a final 6.0.3x build in the next week.

Hi Rick.

The RC6 fixes the problems with pictures in ver 6.0.30, but it still shows vertical pictures horisontally, instead of rotating them.

Oh, and the database also rebuilds itself after each restart of the server, which is kind of annoying...

Thanks for reporting this. The guys in Berlin probably know about all of these issues, but I'll copy them to make sure.

Jonathan,

We weren't aware of this. If you can answer these questions it would help us.

1. Can you send me a sample photo which used to rotate before and no longer does? Send it to tmm-beta@pv.com
2. What was the last version of TwonkyServer which rotated photos without problem?
3. What device are you displaying the rotated photos on?

Thanks for reporting this. Since we have not received reports like this from our test team it would help us if you could answer these questions.

1. Are you running TS on a computer or NAS? If NAS, which one?
2. What makes you think it is rebuilding the database -- as opposed to scanning your media for updates?

1. Im running it on a NAS, the MBWE White light.
2. Because it starts with zero videos, zero photos and zero mp3s after each restart... ;)

Thanks for providing this info. I've shared this info with our developers. We'll be posting the final release of TS 6.0.32 late this week. You might want to retest with that.

That's the plan. Sometimes it takes up to a week longer for the NAS page to get fully updated. Hopefully there is no delay this time.

Q: Why does TwonkyServer rebuild its database everytime I restart it?

A: TwonkyServer should not have to rebuild the database when it's restarted. Every time TwonkyServer is restarted it verifies that the content stored in its database has not changed since the last time it was closed down. To do that the server compares the time stamps between the internal database and the media files on your disk. No media files are opened during this process. It's just comparing all of time stamps. This process occurs quickly when content on the disk has not changed. One of the reasons it appears the database is being rebuilt, is because you see the number of media items on the server configuration status page increase over time. It looks a database rebuild, but should occur much faster.
