I am running Twonky through my Synology DS211J and all was running well until today. I have a Samsung TV, PS3 etc hooked up but when i goto search for media it finds Twonky but when i go into it say no media. I have checked on Twonky derver status and it shows files are there and the devices are seen but i am baffled.

First, check to see if the web gui shows media

http://yourserverip:9000

If that goes well, then maybe its the device profiles
Second, check to see what device profile have been assigned to the devices

Thanks for getting back to me, i have tried everything and it just will not work. When i turn on each device it can see the Twonky Server but there is nothing there, if i go into the Twonky settings i can see the files and play them in it which is odd.

This is a guess

But the part in that install post from the other forum

that we used as our reference to install it

where they mentioned setting an ip address

My guess is that either, it might be best practice on that nas to do so
but if it is using dhcp, you might want to add a dhcp reservation for it
and assign an ip, so that it doesnt change

note: replace <server_ip_address> with the ip address of the nas

http ://<server_ip_address>:9000/rpc/set_option?ip=<server_ip_address>

Or

It might be related to us setting disablelocalssdp=1
You could set it back to default of zero with the following

note: replace <server_ip_address> with the ip address of the nas

http ://<server_ip_address>:9000/rpc/set_option?disablelocalssdp=0

You'll most likely have to also restart it

http ://<server_ip_address>:9000/rpc/restart

Like I saaid this is a guess as to what might be going on

My personal opinion about network devices is this

If it is a printer, nas, router, access point, etc.
They should always be using static IP address
Once you start to link and shortcut to things on them
It all goes bad when the IP changes on them due to using dhcp

I am forever saying thanks to you for helping me and i think the issue is resolved. The problem was i messed around and upgraded to the latest package that you had put at the bottom of the other post and it went pear shaped. Hey ho always learning.
Any way as my personal Twonky specialist you took over 2 hours to answer my original cry for help and if you wish to keep this very prestigious position you need to be quicker.
