Does you client device support the use of .srt subs?

Late again

, not sure how i would find that out. Do you mean my Samsung TV (UE55C7000) or Synology DS211J.

You client is the Samsung TV (UE55C7000), the server is the Synology DS211J
There is a lot of talk about subs and the Samsung TV
among many things added/fixed to the 6.0.31/32 version of twonky server
I think the first thing I would do, would be to check the current firmware version on your TV
and then see what the current available firmware is from Samsung
As I remember there were fixes added by Samsung, in regards to srt and streaming

When made available the latest builds section is listed here
http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=7653
Once it is added to the above, like it currently is for 6.0.32
http://www.twonkyforum.com/downloads/6.0.32/
At the bottom, you'll see a link for the kirkwood

Every time I upgrade to the 6.0.32 for kirkwood none of my devices can see the media, they can all see twonky but that's it. I update by logging in with putty and then use wget and then the file location, I then follow the instructions as per install, re start everything and twonky shows the new version and all the media there, all the devices are set correct ie samsung tv etc

Now that is odd
You could attempt the previous version, to see what that one acts like
http://www.twonkyforum.com/downloads/6.0.31-RC6/
http://www.twonkyforum.com/downloads/6. ... 31-RC6.zip
Even though it links to RC6, the consensus is that it is 6.0.31
Note: this one has fixes/updates for Samsung TV's and subs

Well i have managed to get it to work again with the
http://www.twonkyforum.com/downloads/6. ... 31-RC6.zip, but i still have no subs.
I have made sure the srt file is in the same folder and the names are the same

How to do that, no clue, dont have the tv

This is a guess
I wonder if the srt only applies to mkv or other file types
Not sure if it is a twonky thing or a samsung thing, or both
On some other forum, I read that there was a client that only supported srt for avi, divx, and mkv, noting else
Do you have any mkv's to test that theory out
or is there anything in the samsung readme or documentation about srt files limitations

You know anohter way to find out if the set does work with srt files
Is if you have pc, install the samsung media share software, and see if it works from there
