Move key to new NAS/Server?

I just recently purchased a Twonky key to run Twonky Server on my old SimpleTech NAS 250. I had installed 4.4.11 on it ages ago as a trial, and just applied the key to that install.

Worked great until yesterday, when the NAS died.

I'd like to install Twonky on either another Simpletech NAS I've got sitting around, or possibly on my DNS-323. I know how to do the installs, but I am unclear as to how the key works. Can I use my one month old key on a new install on a different NAS, or is it forever lilnked to my old dead NAS? I assume the server s/w did some sort of verification over the net when I 'registered' the key on the old NAS, or did it just do an internal validity check?

Thanks in advance for any info on this!

I'm not the authority on this
But I see no reason why you cant use the key on the new device

I believe that you can use the key on up to 3 devices simultaneously. You might find that one is now tied to your deceased device but a quick email to Twonky can get that released.

Thanks for the info. I've installed Twonky (6.0.32) on my DNS-321, and successfully used the key for that install. I'm currently putting another hard drive in the old Simpletech NAS, and will reinstall Twonky there when I get a chance, so hopefully I can have them both available using the same key, based upon the 3-at-once allowed statement.
