Srt and Mkv on Sony Home Theater system

I tried using WildMediaServer for 30 days, but when the movies lost sync when having subtitles displayed I decided not to purchase a WMS license. Instead I installed Twonky and hoped that it would be better, but now, when selecting Sony Blu-ray Home Theater as the receiver, I cannot play mkv-files (do not even show) and subtitles are not displayed for divx/xvid movies although the srt-file exists in the same folder as the movie and with the same name.

I have installed and configured ffmpeg, mencoder and vlc-location files. And I have of course tried the turn on/off subtitles button on my Sony system.

The installation process for WMS and the default supported medias were much better, although thats does me no good when the movies are out of sync.

I'm running Twonky on Win7.
