Hi everyone,
I have a LaCinema HD mediaplayer (with the latest firmware) to play videos on my bedroom TV. The mediaplayer is connnected to a router. A Windows 7 PC with TwonkyServer 6.0.32 installed is connected to the same router. Everything works perfectly except for 1 thing. It does not show subtitles (srt) when I play an mp4 video over the network.
The weird thing is that it does show subtitles for all other files (mkv, avi etc.) which are played over the network.
And it also shows subtitles for mp4 files when I play them from an external Hard Drive connected to the mediaplayer. However when I try to play the same mp4 file over the network the subtitels don't show.
I have tried this with multiple mp4 files and multiple subtitle files, always with the same result: The subtitles do show when played from an external HD, but not when played via the TwonkyServer.
Does anybody have an idea what could be causing this? Or is there no subtitle support for mp4 files with TwonkyServer? Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
Play subtiles (srt) on mp4 videos

Re: Play subtiles (srt) on mp4 videos
Currently subtitles only work with MKV files. And only when the conditions below are true.
TwonkyServer 6.0.30 (and later) display subtitles on Samsung 2009 (B Series) and 2010 (C Series) DLNA-certified series TV. However, this only works on MKV files when there is an .SRT file with the same name as the MKV file. Subtitles don't work if the subtitles are embedded as a text stream in the MKV file itself. The later appears to be a limitation of Samsung's firmware because it doesn't work when a MKV with embedded subtitles is inserted directly into the TV via USB thumb drive.
