Phone can instruct the media player to change but...

Hi
I have a Tonkey media server which is Lacie network storage and I have a media player which is Lacie mini player. I have an HTC desire with media server software on it.
I can instruct the player to play a video for example and all of a sudden you hear the video kick in, but the image doesnt change and I cant watch anything? any ideas?
