I used to have an HP MSS with the old version of Twonky on it that I used to stream to my XBOX 360 and PS3. I move to a new WHS that I built myself and missed using Twonky. So I just purchased the full version of Manager/Server and have installed it on my home brew WHS and my Windows 7 Professional 32bit laptop (just the manager on the laptop). Everything seems to work fine as I can see the server on my XBOX 360, PS3, PCH-A100 and PCH-C200 and stream my files with no issues. However, I do not get a system tray icon on either the WHS machine or laptop. I used the "Run as" command to install as the administrator on both machines but no icon shows up. How do I get the icon to display?
TIA!

Re: Tray icon not displayed
There should be a program group Twonky in the all programs menu
Which would/should contain a shortcut for "Twonky Tray Control"
which is a shortcut for the following
"C:\Program Files\TwonkyMedia\twonkymediaserverconfig.exe"
To have this run when you log in via RDP, you'll have to add it to the startup group
If you installed this on the WHS, then did you choose to install it as a service,
if so, there is really no need to use the tray control
it would be probably be best to use the web gui
else you would have to RDP into the WHS everytime you wanted to start the Twonky Service

Re: Tray icon not displayed
On the WHS I did install as a service and configured it via the web gui but there isn't anything other then TwonkyManager shortcut in the Twonky program group. The same goes for the laptop, I reinstalled it without the server, then with the server as a service and again without the server as a service and do not see any other shortcut other then TwonkyManager in the Twonky program group no matter how I install it.

Re: Tray icon not displayed
I manually created the shortcut to the exe file on the laptop and it works.... The installer should create it automatically during the install correct??

Re: Tray icon not displayed
Off the top of my head, I cant remember if it does add it to the startup up group or not
sometimes over the course of doing a lot of twonky upgrades, things after the fact become sub-contiously automated
and one has to ask, did I just do that thing I used to do, that I used to do, etc. etc.

Re: Tray icon not displayed
I guess that it needs to be created manually as I've tried it on 3 different machines and none of them get the shortcut. And there is also no mention of it in the manuals for Manager or Server. Not that I needed it, I just wanted to know why it didn't show up as I saw a few postings on here that referenced it and figured it would set it up during the install. Thanks for letting me know which exe it was!
