I've seen the thread that someone raised about Videos with dates prior to 1970. There appeared to be some dispute as to whether Twonky recognised these dates. I have encountered a similar problem trying to create a photo database. I have lots of photos that are dated prior to 1970 which I have tagged with the correct dates, people and locations. My plan was to display using the tags to show a persons life in pictures. This works great from 1970 onwards but of course anything prior to that gets displayed last because Twonky ( I assume) interprets them as year 2106.

As anyone come across this problem before and if so come up with any useable workaround. My only thought at the moment is to use the year 1970 using days and months to display the photos in the correct order. Not great but if that is the only option then so be it.

If you send me a sample photo with a date before 1970, I can have someone investigate this and try to fix it if there is a problem. Please send the file to tmm-beta@pv.com along with a short description of the problem. Thanks.

Thanks for the offer of investigating the problem. I too have been looking further at this and I have found that today I cannot replicate the problem. Coincidentally I have switched from Picasa to Windows Live Photo Gallery today and maybe that is the difference. With the older photographs I am changing the date taken time which is what I believe Twonky uses when organizing the database. The option to make this change is available both in Picasa and Live Photo Gallery, maybe there is something different in the Picasa syntax which although it looks ok may not be ok for Twonky. Having said that I did modify date taken on photos newer than 1970 without a problem.

I will do some more investigating and try and replicate the problem again if it turns out to be Picasa then I won't trouble you again.

The problem has returned and it is more bizaare than what I first thought. My previous suspicion that it was somehow linked to Picasa has turned out not to be the case. What I have since found is that when I edit the photos in either Picasa or Windows Photo Gallery then Twonky adds them to the the database with the correct date so at this point my database includes for example 1969. Other photos prior to 1970 photos are still shown to be in 2106. At some point in time the photo which is correct in 1969 appears in 2106 again with the year 1969 deleted from the database. I haven't pinpointed when this happens, it doesn't appear to be simply a server restart, whether or not it is a certain time of day which triggers this I haven't so far worked out.

Rick - I will take you up on your offer to investigate, I will email you two copies of the same photograph, one with a camera date of 1969 and one with 1970. Hopefully you will be able to spot something,
