Playing mp3 files

Hello,

I got a very irritating problem. It's just like this: I have a Qnap NAS where al my mp3's are stored. I use twonkymedia to stream all the files via the PS3. On my PS3 I play my mp3 files for example. Now the problem is that the mp3's are playing alphabetically. But in mix cd's is that very annoying. Is there a way to organize al my files, so that I can play it in normal sequence?

Thanks in advance, and greetings from holland!

Sorry to hear that you're having problems. I'm aware of two possible ways to address this issue:

1. Use the tree heading that contain the word album -- instead of folder.
2. Rename your MP3 files so they they begin with the track number. This sounds like a hassle, but it's really easy to do if you have software like Tag and Rename. You can do it on your entire library at once.

Thanks for your answer. I will try the second one. I don't understand the first one. Can you explain that one?

But is the problem in the ps3, twonkymedia or in de NAS?

I just download the program. Can you tell me how the complete folder Albums (where all my albums/folder are in) in one time can change?

Sure. Select one of the following headings: Album, Artist/Album or Genre/Album

Thx for your answer, but I still didn't understand it. Is it possible you write a How-To for me (and for a few other people I saw on this forum)? It's still annoying me when I play my mp3 files.

Sure. What product are you using to access your music via TwonkyServer?

How to access music from your Qnap NAS using a Sony PS3

Make sure to select the right content type in the PS3 top level menu prior to selecting the media server.

1. First use the joystick to navigate to Music on the PS3
2. Then select the media server that contains the music you wish to play.
3. In the server navigation tree select music again. You should now be able to select a song or album to play.

How rename your MP3 files so they begin with a track number

1. Launch Tag and Rename
2. Select the folder that contains all of the music you want to rename
3. Click on the Rename Files tab or press F4
4. Edit the filename mask, so the file is named as you want (e.g. %6 - %2)
5. Press the Rename button when you’re sure that you have things right. There is no going back, so you should do a test on a single song before you rename every music file you have.

Hello again,

I've tried everything. I even updated the twonky media server. That doens't help either. But I think the problem is somewhere else. Because, when I go to my browser (and those HTML) and I browse to my library, The server has sorted erverything by alphabet. Very strange. Normally this is not usual. Could you please find a real resolution for me?

Update: I've just tried to play the same file's via my notebook. And then he plays everything very well and in the good order. So I'm for sure the problem is with the twonky server. Idea's?
