Delay Transferring Album Art To Media Receiver

Have a Sony STRDA5500ES, Windows XP SP3 running Twonky Server 6.0.34. Receiver is configured in TS running "advanced media view".

Whenever I play a song on the receiver for the first time the screen and controls are locked for exactly 30 seconds. During this time the song time counter and progress bar show 00:00:01 and there is no media art. After 30 seconds the art appears and the time counter catches up. If I replay, everything is fine until the database is rebuilt. Even when the art finally appears, it usually shows either the full album art or the "reflection" of the art, but not both, until I restart or play again.

Not sure if this is a TS or receiver issue, but the situation clearly starts over when the TS database is rebuilt. This happened with 6.0.32 as well.

This sounds to me like it is an issue with your receiver or your network. Is your Sony hardwired or connected via wireless?
Do you have any other DLNA-certified devices on your network that you can try like a TV or Blu-ray. I'd be interested to know if they have the same problem.

Although I don't think it will fix the problem, you may want to update to 6.0.34 if you haven't done so already.

Thanks for the reply. I am running 6.0.34. All devices are hard-wired on network. I don't have any other DLNA clients. I'm pretty sure my receiver is not storing or caching media art. This symptom is only a first time play symptom that occurs only after TS *rebuilds* the database. So each subsequent play is perfectly fine until the rebuild. I would think if the receiver is the issue it would exhibit this every time I play the same song. I'm open to the receiver being the issue but given what I cite I find that hard to understand why. I'll be checking with Sony to see if the receiver does any kind of caching but that's the only thing I can imagine would cause this. Any other Sony ES owners out there doing what I'm doing?
