6.0.34, "by folder" available via the flash browser only

Post by yang » Fri Jul 29, 2011 8:18 pm

I have an odd case where I am lost. Fresh install of 6.0.34 for Linux, no changes, added the video directory and with the flash based browser I can see all navigation trees including the "by folder". In the html version of the media browser offered by the administration page there are just the Album, All Videos, by date and Playlists. Same for my other streaming clients.

Was working before perfectly fine.

Any idea??

Something to try:

1. Click on the 'First Steps' link on the left hand side of the server setting page screen.
2. Make sure the 'Navigation Tree:' is set to 'Advanced media view'.
3. Click on the 'Save Changes' button near the top of the screen.
4. Press the 'Restart Server' button near the top of the screen.

Did that, no change.
It was set to the advanced viewing already, haven't modified client.db and views.db or the view/*.xml files. They all do indicate that a by-folder structure should be visible.
As said, in the flash based browser it shows up correctly.
With html browsing, Samsung TVs and PS3 there are just by-date and the other two options, none of the advanced ones like by-folder or keywords in photos.

Hm, I clicked on rebuild database and now it is working. But it was a fresh install, just added the directories....

Anyway, let's keep that in mind, maybe we find an explanation later.
