I just bought and installed the mediaserver upgrade form version 4.5 to version 5. But after the upgrade,my original and resized camera JPG pictures (resized to 800x600 resolution) are shown (Denon S-302) in a very low pixel quality on my Denon S302. With the old media server 4 (latest rev), the quality is good. It looks like the new server is serving up the albumart (thumbnail) versions of the images instead of the full versions of the photos !
Upgrade to version 5.1-RC6-4 makes no difference, still low quality
Is there a fix for this or do i have to uninstall this new release of the server..?

Hi,
When you resize camera JPG pictures to 800x600 resolution, the photo will be damaged by low-quality, you should try betterjpeg, it allows for editing JPEG images without recompression. Good luck.

No,no, that is not the problem. 800x600 shoulld not look like a display of 80x60 or even worse ! I have no problems when I use the mediaserver v4 !

Re: Poor picture quality on Denon after upgrade to Mediaserver 5
I got a quick fix today from the TwonkyMedia Team:
open the folder "cgi-bin" below Twonky's installation directory and delete the files "convert.exe" and "cgi-jpegscale.exe" and then press rebuild database. This should disable server side picture scaling.
It worked !

Re: Poor picture quality on Denon after upgrade to Mediaserver 5
I wanted to also point out that we have fixed this issue in TwonkyMedia server 5.1.1-RC2. This release will appear in the next week or two in the Beta section here on the Forum.
DENON has tested this release and confirmed it works properly with both the S-302 and AVR-4308. I suspect it work with other DENON products as well.
If you encounter additional issues like this, please send mail to tmm-beta@pv.com. Thanks.

1. I am using turbo NAS 439 Pro. If I upgrade the firmware, does it automatically upgarde Twonky Media Server?
2. I am trying to navigate to the CGI-BIN directory as stated. How do I go about doint that.
Thanks so much and Happy 2010 !!!
