Samsung TV D8000 thumbnail size? (linux twonky server)

It sees the thumb file that has the same name as the movie file. So far so good.
But I would like to see bigger thumnails or covers... so I can see what the movie is about.

Now the thumbnails are so small that they are useless.

Can I change something in the resources folder or in another place so it will at least show my thumbnails bigger?

I have been googling for hours and did not find any answer.

I believe it is your client (in this case the TV) that decides how large these are.

I have the same problem when trying to view photographs (jpgs) taken with my Nikon camera. Rather than see the photographs rescaled to full-screen, I just see small thumbnails of them. Smaller photographs taken with my other camera appear with no problems.

Here is some info which may help.

Sometimes TwonkyServer doesn't correctly identify devices and loads a generic device profile. In some cases this can result in thumbnails being displayed -- instead of the full-sized photos.

Ways to fix this:
1. Go to the server settings pages and click on the Media Receivers link. Locate your device in the list and try changing it to another profile. If there is a profile in the list from the same company as your device, try that. If not, try other device profiles. Some have reported that changing this to Xbox solved their thumbnails problems.
2. Locate the clients.db file and try changing the "TR:"-line to "TR:JPEG1920x1080,JPEG138x103,MP3,WAV,WMV"
(put the higher HD resolution in front of the lower resolution). Some who did this say they are now seeing full screen pictures.

Let me know if either of these work for you.

Approach number 2 fixed things for me - thanks :D

I edited the Samsung TV section of the clients.db file to read:

TR:JPEG1920x1080,JPEG138x103,MP3,WAV,WMV

I also deleted the line:

MT:m4a audio/mp4

in order to be able to listen to my itunes songs.

The only remaining thing now is to get the photographs to properly autorotate to portrait....

I would think auto-rotation is a client issue, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for letting me know that option 2 worked.

Fixed the auto-rotation of images by changing the relevant line in clients.db to read:

TR:JPEGORG,MP3,WAV,WMV

I'd noticed that if I used twonky on my iPhone to send photos from the twonkyserver running on my linux box to my TV then they displayed correctly - it was only when called up directly from the TV that they weren't properly rotated (and had a lower resolution). I guessed this meant the convert routine wasn't doing its job properly so I tried just sending the original jpegs (by just setting JPEGORG) and they displayed fine :-) (Note, if you don't list anything then only thumbnails are displayed.)

I'm now very happy that everything (music and images) streams correctly between my twonkysever and my Samsung TV :-)
