Hi all,
I own a Buffalo Linkstation Pro LS-VL NAS 2TB, and a Samsung 40C6500 tv. Yesterday I bought a Twonky server license, and installed it correctly to my NAS.
Now: mkv files plays fine. I tried several types, and all of those works perfectly as expected.
The only thing missing seems.... I'm not able to rewind or fast forward when looking a film: is this an expected behaviour? When using USB key directly connected to Samsung TV I can REW / FF , so I don't think it's a Samsung issue.
Anyone can help me pls ?
Thx
Paolo

Re: Rewind / forward on Samsung TVs
A search will find many threads on the subject. Media is supported differently if it's local compared to being served by DLNA, hence why you can rewind and fast forward from the USB stick.
I've found that generally you can rewind and fast forward MP4 files reliably, but not MKV files.

Re: Rewind / forward on Samsung TVs
Indeed I found many posts, each one of those was suggesting to add some specific dlna clients type in clients.db file on filesystem. I tried many , but none of them is actually functioning.
So , what you say is that it is *impossible* to have rew and ff via dlna with twonky? I'm asking this because it seems, from other searches I did , that other servers (like serviio for example) are able to do it.....
thank you

I'm saying that, currently, ff and rew support for MKV files on Samsung TVs doesn't appear to work for all models. This situation may change, I don't know.
