I´m running TMS 5.1 on my Windows Homeserver connectes to a Samsung B650 TV.
DNLA is running ok but not perfect with all vieos of mine. Aspect ratio is no problem due to Samygo fix.
So i wonder how to (re)encode my collection for best playback (incl. ffw/ pause) on my TV.
I got many DVD rips (vob) waiting to be shrunk but also a variety of avi / divx ones.
As i prefer dd sourround dual - audio i would leave the AC3 streams untouched.
Do you have any experiences and recommandations for me?

Handbrake. I use it to convert a variety of videos and DVDs, usually to .mkv, and they play nicely on my B650.
You'll want to watch the anamorphic settings. When playing from Twonky the B650 doesn't seem to understand anamorphic in .mkv so I usually go with "none" and set the resolution to stretch the width so as to lose as little quality as possible.

I'm pretty sure if you search you'll find that it's a known problem and they are working on it.
