Samsung C650 TV and yep, you've guessed it: MKVs

With the World Cup coming up, I thought, "NEW TV TIME!" :D

My existing Samsung B650 TV had no problems playing MKVs from my MyBook NAS (once I'd edited the clients.db file that is, running from TwonkyMedia 5.1), and after asking online and checking the supported formats (and even the user manual), I thought my new C650 TV would have no trouble playing my large collection of MKVs.

Well, I was wrong. I can only find two that actually play on the C650 when streaming from the NAS via TwonkyMedia 5.1. :(

ALL of those MKVs played fine on my B650.

Also, ALL of them play OK on the C650 when streaming using Sammy's PC Share Manager, and the Serviio server software.

My current, custom profile for the Sammy TVs is this:

NA:SamsungTV
HH:SAMSUNGTV
DB:FIX
XM:DLNA10
XM:DATETIME
HP:chunked
MT:mpeg,mpeg2,vdr,spts,tp,ts,avi,divx,mkv video/mpeg
MT:m4a audio/mp4
AV:no-m3u

Is there anything I can change in order to get all of my MKVs working on the C650?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Try using DLNA15 instead of DLNA10.

Thanks, I've tried that, but no success.

I've read elsewhere that other people running Twonty have no trouble playing MKVs on their C650, but out of 50+ MKVs I've only been able to play two.

Hi,

I can play all my MKVs from my Twonky (6.0 Beta 4) on DM800C to my Samsung LE40C650. Automatically used profile is "Samsung TV". I just can't use fastforward (works on PC with XMBC) and it is really annoying that I can't skip ads or just resume watching a movie later from the position where I made a break.
Are there any custom settings I can make that fast forward works?

It doesn't work with the B650 series either. ISTR that there have been posts on the forum by staff about this and that they're working on it but not ETA.

I've installed the 6.0 Beta 4 on my PC and I still can't stream MKVs to my c650. :?

I have the same problem... iMac (Snow Leo 10.6.4 + Twonky Server 6.0) and Samsung LE40C650... I get no error when i try to play MKVs... The TV is starting to load the file then it just exit back to browser...
Using PC Share Manager all the files works fine... but as everyone know, that software is only for Windows...

We don't have a solution to the FF problem at present. Samsung uses a proprietary method to do this, which is why Allshare works.

As far as MKV files not playing back. We have a workaround for that issue:

Make sure you are running TwonkyServer 6.0.2 (or later). If you’re still having problems you might want to try one of these two solutions:

Solution 1: Download the “mkclean tool” and run it on your problem files. It will fix the problem: http://www.matroska.org/downloads/mkclean.html.

Solution 2: Rip your files using an older version of MKVMerge (e.g. v3.3.0). MKVMerge 4.1 appears to have problems.
