Any EVA-8000 experience?

I have the EVA-8000 and have been trying out TwonkyVision with it and a readyNAS-NV.

The EVA8000 does not read the folder structure correctly via TwonkyVision, files are mixed up, and DVDs ripped as VOBs and IFOs are not displayed as part of the same DVD. I just get long lists of unsorted VOBs.

Has anyone discovered the optimal settings for using TwonkyVision with a EVa-8000?

Similiar issue with DE EVA8000

It seems that the indexing causes the problems. I Have around 10.000 mp3s and JPGs. The indexing of EVA8000 goes well over the 10.000 files and then causes the netgear device to crash and reboot. It would be great to use the Twonky index/catalog as the Netgear one lacks some features.

Setup: NSLU2 w/ TwonkyMedia 4.4; EVA8000

Incompatible to twonky for the time being

I cannot recommend the EVA8000 for use with twonky. It seems that EVA reads the whole menu tree of twonky unaware that identical files a read multiple times.

In addition photos have a bad resolution. I did not check, however, whether any settings could fix this.

But the worst thing is that EVA does not allow to use the menu tree of twonky itself. It insists on "reading files" which blocks the device for hours.

I did not know that this behavior is allowed to be called DNLA- and Upnp AV-compatible. I am very disappointed.

The latest firmware upgrade (three days ago) did not change anything on this.

EVA8000 doesn't find any media from TwonkyMedia

Hi,

I have EVA8000 and am trying to get it to run with TwonkyMedia 4.4.
I am running a MacBook (OSX 10) with TwonkyMedia and I can see my EVA8000 connecting to the server. I used the web-interface to check if the client has access and to share the media. The web-interface lists 10 videos, 10 mp3s and 10 photos.
However the EVA8000 doesn't show me any media.
I am not running the newest firmware (something like 2.2, but I guess that can't be it.
Is the EVA8000 really up
And one other thing: does anybody know if it's possible to use EVA8000 in WLAN ad-hoc mode?

Thanks

Martin

Can I ask how you guys are setting up the EVA8000 to use uPnP rather than SMB shares ?

I can't see the option for this...

cheers

I have problems too using Twonky with my EVA8000. Same behavior as described by another user in this forum.
EVA8000 lists way more files than I really do have on my Buffalo LS live NAS before crashing and rebooting. Any idea to fix this? Is this device really upnp compatible?

I've got a freecom FSG-3 NAS with linux on it and twonky 4.4.2 and want to read and write to it from the EVA8000.
Connect ist via d-lan and for i-net radio it works, but eva cannot read any data on my fsg.( no network with shared datas found)

Do I have to push eva away???
Is there anybody who is interessed in this concern
Who could cover it ????
Is there a version of twonky availible or expect that fix this?

Avoid using Twonky or any other DLNA/UPnP server with the EVA8000. It is not necessary anyway. The EVA8000 uses SMB to build its own index of media.
