TwonkyMedia causes massive lag to other computers?

My brother is suffering from high latency and is practically unable to play online games from what seems to be caused by TwonkyMedia, (When turned off the latency drops back to normal).
Is there anyway of still using TwonkyMedia which works great with the PS3 and Xbox 360 without the lag on other networked computers?

Update:
I have found a better functioning more updated and more to the point FREE program to replace TwonkyMedia. Which doesn't lag everyone on my network.
