MediaServer disappears and then reappears etc

Running TwonkyMedia Server 5.1.3-dev on ReadyNAS Duo (beulah).

on PC running XP sp3, the server appears in My Network Places as:
MusicServer or MusicServer (beulah)

it moves between the two and randomly disappears and then reappears ... :?

in the same XP window, under The Internet, it appears once as twonkymedia on beulah and is constant.

downstairs, on my Roberts 83i it *sometimes* appears but then drops out and then returns, also.

any idea what the problem might be?
