Hi i am new to twonky
i installed the media server and added some files. But when i try to play an ac3 audio song in the server
i get this error
"the local renderer could not play back the selected media. Please make sure you have the proper codec installed ans try again" .
The error is kind of self explanatory, but it was not mentioned any where in the instruction that need to install any codec.
I am a little cautious because i moved from Tversity to Twonky because of all the codec headaches.
Can some one please explain to me what i need to do to play different ac3 and ogg( same problem with these) files.
Thanks
koolip

Re: AC3 files PlayBack
You need a media player (either a hardware device or software on a computer or smartphone) that can play the files containing the relevant codecs.koolip wrote:Can some one please explain to me what i need to do to play different ac3 and ogg( same problem with these) files.
Twonkymedia Server is just a server that streams requested media files to a media player. It is up to the media player to decode and render the files.
What media player are you trying to use?
