Stuttering playback

I've started to get this regularly in the past week. Sometimes the track buffers and recovers, sometimes the server just goes on to the next track.
We have a very low use network. Often there is only my hardwired PC (music server) and my Marantz C-MR510 box (also hardwired), and my wife's tablet (wifi) connected. No high throughput network use.
How can I diagnose what is causing this, and how can I stop it happening - it's getting to the point where it occurs more often than not when a track plays, rendering the system more or less useless.
And no, nothing has changed of note since I upgraded to Windows 10 in the early days of its release.
