Sony BDP S390 - unable to play mp3 files

Post by Robert_S » Fri Sep 07, 2012 8:31 am

I have recently purchased a Sony BDP S390 DLNA blu-ray player. I have a Twonky Linux server. If I browse to my Twonky server on the menu on the blu-ray player it shows all of my mp3 files, but when I try to play one of these I get a message "File format not supported".

I can play mp3 files on other devices - eg an Android phone and tablet, and a Denon ADS-3W DLNA iPod dock.

How can I get mp3s to play on this device?

I've never heard of a Sony device that couldn't play MP3 files. I wonder if it is bit-rate-related? What is the bit rate of your files?
