/webconfig prompts for username and password
After installing TwonkyServer 8.2.1, I attempt to access http://localhost:9000/webconfig and get a box requesting a user name and password. Nothing I enter will work.

Re: /webconfig prompts for username and password
I don't know the specific answer, but you might be better off posting in the main Twonky server sub forum. Because this is more of an issue with configuring Townky Server than it is about Linux. The other sub forum has some posts that explain how to manipulate the Twonky configuration files at the command line. Which is what I suspect you may need to do, since you didn't create an "administrative user" when Twonky was installed.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.

Re: /webconfig prompts for username and password
And I just found this in some note I had collected earlier.
Use with Caution, you might still want to look at the 'sticky posts' in the Twonky Server forum first.

Hi,
There is one more way to resolve this issue. We can remove user name and password from Twonky configuration page by using rpc commands.
We can open Twonky configuration page by typing:-
http://ip-address-of-your-Server/NAS:... or http://127.0.0.1:9000/config
The step by step information to remove username and password is given below:-
1. Open web browser and type:- http://127.0.0.1:9000/rpc/set_option?...=
Here the complete command ends as set_option?accessuser=
(this will remove username from config page). Enter complete rpc command and hit enter. Close web browser.
2. Now again open web browser and type the rpc command:-
http://127.0.0.1:9000/rpc/set_option?...=
Here the complete command ends as set_option?accesspwd= .
hit enter and close this web browser.
3. After resetting options we can open Twonky configuration page:-
http://127.0.0.1:9000/config
It will not prompt for any user name and password.
Note:- Make sure there are no multiple Twonky settings tab open while using rpc command. If multiple tabs are opened then it might not take rpc command.
Try this and let us know the updated status.
Regards,
Kiran

Re: /webconfig prompts for username and password
hello and sorry for my bad english,
come from germany.
I have a question regarding the user at twonky,
I have activated multi user.
Then all devices are set to user, if I now a device eg. Admin will give right then I get the message:
"Can not save the user assigned to the devices."
As soon as I save.
What can be the reason?
Many Thanks
