NLSU2 crash with TwonkyVision - Backup plan - Please help

Post by ekanters » Fri Jul 04, 2008 9:57 pm

Recently my NSLU2 crashed for some reason and I was not able to bootup the system any more. Top light stays orange and the USB disk is not responing duing the boot sequence any more. I considered it a total loss. I thought of a backup plan:
- Install TwonkyVision on my Ubuntu machine and connect my USB harddrive and voila the files are accessible again.

On the Ubuntu machine I can access all the files and also via the TW webbrowse function. But via my other clients a SL300i and other webbrowser on my Windows XP machine the UPNP browsing works, I can see all the files and folders but when I click on a file it does not start to play any more. The SL300i responds with "Not playable"

From a Windows XP machine I can access the files via a share on my Ubuntu machine. (with a username and pasword).

I think I need to play with permissions on my linux machine since the USB-disk was previously connected to my NLSU2. Can you advise me please?

Hawk.
