Streaming from Twonky 4.4.7 to a Linux client

Post by Bugsy1957 » Thu Jan 22, 2009 12:21 pm

Firstly, I hope I am posting in the right forum!

I have a Windows Home server running the above release of Twonky and am able to stream media including m2ts files to a PS3.

I would like to investigate the possibility of streaming the same content from the same server to a linux device which I may build. Although I have worked with the Windows O/S for many years I have bairly touched Linux and have a low spec PC which I would like to use as a linux device.

So my question is: Can I use a linux device as a twonky client? I'm guessing that this is possible given some of the forum sections here! If this is possible do I need (a) a specific flavour of Linux and (b) do I need additional software for the Linux PC to act as a client to the Twonky server!

Regards

Dave
