Linux server losing connection with receivers

Post by bonitillo » Wed Aug 26, 2009 2:06 am

I am a Linux newbie and I installed and setup Twonky 5.068 on my Ubuntu 9.04 server. I am running the setup on a machine I built with an Atom 330 1.6ghz processor, 3GB Ram and a 1.5TB sata drive. My issue is this- I start watching a movie on my PS3 and within an hour the movie stops and I get disconnected from the server. It then takes a few minutes before the server is seen by the PS3 again. This is happening anytime I watch a movie. Could it be horsepower? I went with Linux to try and setup a greener PC, but if this doesn't work then I need to go back to a Windows environment.
What log files should I be looking at to pinpoint the issue?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'm running 5.0.61 with Ubuntu 9.04 on a far less powerful machine so don't worry, it's not your computer as such that's the problem. Are all devices using the same MTU? I've heard many a time about networking issues where connections break for seemingly no reason and MTU was the factor.

Also you didn't say if you were wired or wireless in your network.
