Twonky+Mac+PS3+Divx Streaming = Unsupported Data

Post by Rhythmattic » Wed Dec 19, 2007 8:47 am

I Just downloaded the PS3 2.10 firmware upgrade and Played a Divx file Directly off a USB2 Thumb Drive... Excellent !!!!

Yep, Gotta Buy Twonk Media 4.4.2 ... and I did.

I Can View Pics , Stream Music... BUT , The same File Divx video file that plays off my USB2 stick comes up as an "Unsupported DATA" File across the network.

It doesn't even show the Name.

What am I missing ??

Mac DP 2G G5 with OS 10.4.11 / LinkSys WAG54G V.2 / PS3 2.10.

I know people have had Success with other uPNP Servers... Is it a Twonky thing ?

Man.... I Hope not.

Anyone ?

Just tried the new 4.4.3 version and still no divx playback on my PS3, plus now .ts files don't work either.

Last night I installed mediatomb on my macbook and that is working with every file that is playable on the PS3, and its free.

New 4.4.3.1

Running on Mac with PS3 as client .ts files still showing up as unsupported data.
But good news Divx is now working.

Cheers.

I was running into the same problem. I fixed the problem by using the "Rebuild Database" option, and by powering down + powering up the PS3, and I started seeing my files again. Tell me if that works.

If this reply was to me then I can see my HD ts files but they come up as unsupported now when with version 4.4.2 they were playable.
And rebuilding the database did nothing. With v 4.4.3.1 the Divx files are playing but ts files are not.
Like I said above I'm using mediatomb, which works on all my files and its got a rudimentary on the fly transcoding ( still beta ).

It works !!!

Now Streaming Divx to my PS3 across a network !!!

Hopefully in the Full release, you can run mediaserver without the internet browser Launching.

Thank you to the Twonky Team !!!
