It sounds like to me that the OP is looking for UPnP AV client software for the Mac. Can VLC connect to UPnP AV servers?

Enjoy life,
Steven

Mediacloud is Intel only. You can play links in your browser with perian or copy the links to vlc or nice player to view fullscreen.

Two options i am aware of are Boxee and XBMC. I've used Boxee and Like it.

Google for them.

Yes, there is a very good UPnP-Client for Mac OS-X. It is called XBMC and can be found at xbmc.org :D

Mediacloud is only a video player and (as far as I know) does not play music files. Boxee does not work at all on my mac and it is only alpha software.
