I have medias on my external storage that I need configuring Twonky Media Server to see. Currently Twonky Media Server can only stream content on my Mac host.
Is it possible to point/configure Twonky to see my media on USB external storage?

Sure you can, my music is on an external HD. You just need to make sure that the external HD is "mounted" under Volumes before you start your TwonkyMedia server so it will show in the drop down list when adding it to the sharing list.

I'm running an external USB connected drive - Seagate FreeAgent Desktop drive - with media (video, music) files. This is picked up ok by the TwonkyMedia server.

I did mount the information via
/Volumes/{name of drive}/{path to file}

The Volume should appear in the Finder list, or alternatively you can open a Terminal window and check what is listed under the path /Volume as in the Unix command "ls /Volumes"

I have the same problem
Is it possible to state in steps how the procedure of mounting an external driveis done?
My knowledge is very limited here
I have a mac and crossfire hard drive where my i tunes are stored

I have also noticed that when I access i photo there are lots of duplicates and I can not see albums as listed in i photo

Also having put my user name in the media feeds nothing happens!

I got the software a couple of days ago and would be obliged for any help and advice
