Streaming ALAC to PlugPlayer on iphone

Hi Folks,
First post here....
I have recently installed Twonky 5.0.46 on my Mac and bought PlugPlayer 2.1.2 for my iPhone. I can play AAC files and mpeg videos with PlugPlayer but ALAC (apple lossless) files won't play. On the screen they look like they are playing as there is a time bar counting forward but there is no cover art and no sound.
Can anyone help with this?
