noob: ReadyNAS+ and xbox 360 - no video files

Post by michelyoung » Sun Jul 20, 2008 4:25 am

I've been looking at the forums for help on this topic and I just can't seem to find it. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong or I'm assuming the software does something that it's not suppose to.

I've installed the twonky 4.4.5 bin file on the ReadyNAS and enabled the software. Then I logged into the http interface and tried to do the basic setup of looking for the media share folder.

Prior to installing the twonky software I had a partition that I created on the readyNAS (/video). Then using the twonky setup software I typed in the content location of /video.

After this was saved I even did a rescan and later a rebuild of the database and a restart of all the servers (twonky and readyNAS). Nothing seems to be there!?!

Do I need to manually upload all the media files using the twonky http interface? If so, this software is really not ready for primetime. Honestly I think it's a user error and I must have forgotten something, but I don't know what.

Any help is appreciated!

Well, working with the UI a little more I discovered that I needed to click on the "/c" hyperlink and then automagically the share names appeared.

Thanks!
