Ok, Have Maxtor Central Axis.
got the firmare updated and can telnet/putty into the command line.
Have downloaded a few ver.'s of Twonky.
Some will not ask for a destination for install, some do.
Have used the TwonkyMedia Manager package that asks and inputted the
- root address of the media as "NAS ADDRESS\Public"
- and install files on "NAS ADDRESS\Public\, , it made the folder and placed the run file in it.
I chmod'ed the folder for read/write access.
But cant seem to access the NAS ADDRESS:9000 set up page.
The install in still putting the "Application Data" on my local laptop and still configs Twonky to use my laptop IP for the "Network Interface"...
I just cant seem to get over this install hump...
Can any one please help with some good/detailed instructions?
Thnks.

Ok.. Yea i was tring to use the windows ver. dont ask me why...
So I downloaded the newest ver for lunix and unpacked the .zip file to the twonky folder on the NAS..
I beleive I have read/write to all the files and dirs in the twonky folder..
I tried to start the server with the :
sh twonkymedia.sh start command. and received this..
A TwonkyMedia server seems to be running with PID , but no PID file exists.
Probably no write permission for /var/run/mediaserver.pid.
Any comments..
I Still cant use IE to log on the config page on the NAS... 192.168.1.100:9000....
Thanks for all your help
Maybe I should try older Ver. of lunix install.....
If so do you know where to find the older vers?
