Hey,
I installed the new 5.x Version. Everything was fine and during installation. I saw how video per video came into the list. But suddenly some of the directories became "empty" again. I can see this phenomen again and again. Does someone see this too?

Same issue.... after a while I get 0 photo's, music and video's. When I reboot the server, all settings are reset, including the serial numbers!!

I am getting this also.
I have installed V5.0.55 onto my Linkstation Gigabit NAS and EVERY time I reboot the server I have to put the serial number in and it rebuilds / rescans for content.
After the 14th time it's getting pretty tedious.
Please can we have a fix for this?
Dom

Very strange.

Re: New 5.x Version "forgets" information
Since posting I have reverted back to 4.4 and have had no problems really. I think I'll wait until there is another revision of 5.
Re: New 5.x Version "forgets" information
I did it the same way
Re: New 5.x Version "forgets" information
Yes, same here. I have a Dllink DNS-323 and whenever the NAS is restarted all settings are lost, including the key and the term starts over with a 30 day trial. So you could just restart the NAS once per month and never have to purchase a license. I wonder if they know this????

Re: New 5.x Version "forgets" information
Yeah, me too. I have just upgraded to version 5.0.65 on my Terastation Home Server.
Initially it found all my content and was streaming happily. After an hour, it now says:
5.0.65
Cache memory: 2494 KB
Last database change: 11:59:10
Music tracks: 0
Photos: 0
Videos: 0
Why has it disappeared?

I'm now using 5.0.65 and had this problem initially on my buffalo Linkstation Pro, however, once I created symlinks from /var/twonkymedia to a directory on my main share, this problem went away.
Basically the rebuild (after a default 60 minutes) was filling up the root partition since the database was on root despite the main install being on my larger share partition.
I will keep an eye on it though and post a reply if the problem reoccurs.

That sounds really interesting. Can you talk me thru how you do that as linux isn't my strong point!
Thanks

Sure thing, there is actually a pretty good post in these forums though you might have to adapt it to your particular NAS and partitions. Nonetheless, the principles are the same:sheriffbiggs wrote:That sounds really interesting. Can you talk me thru how you do that as linux isn't my strong point!
