Hi,
I'm a bit of a novice at this, but sucessfully installed Twonky on my linkstation, no issues there, following a similar process for my HP Media Vault MV1 2020, as per the following instructions:-
http://k0lee.com/hpmediavault/twonky/index.html
I can access the Twonky config page and it shows me
Music tracks: 0
Pictures: 2854
Videos: 0
This isnt a true reflection of my contents, I have my itunes back up here and a handful of videos that have indexed OK on my buffalo.
Under the sharing page, the root is set to share all media files, and as it wasnt working I added the path to the video files to and set to just video, still wont add them, i.e.
location / All media types
location /shares/Volume1/MediaShare Video-only
I have done full rebuilds of the database.
During my setup I initially had a few problems as I suppose I was just following the script listed in the webpage without understanding them, so when it didnt work, I thought I'd give a later version a go (the one specific to a MIPS hardware). Anyway, that didnt work and I backed that out as best I could (by removing all new folders and files using the telnet window as windows wouldnt allow me to), persevered with the first version exactly as described in the webpage above. After a few tweaks I managed to get it running, but alas only photos will index.
I dont know if I have any failed installation files from before in any areas other than the \\hpmediavault\ShareApps\opt\twonky path that I need to delete, or if there is a simpler explanation??
Any help would be gratefully received. I'm not a linux expert, but my housemate is a developer and knows unix inside out so any techy speak can be implemented by someone who will understand it.
Thanks
Paul
media server NAS drive only indexes photos, not video or mp3

A couple of questions before we go any further:
Which version of Twonky are you trying to run?
Which Linkstation do you have?
Thanks
