Hello,
I came up with the brilliant idea that it would be good to update the Twonky client on my NAS drive (WD My Book Live).
I used the following instructions widespread on the Internet:
cd /usr/local/
mv twonkymedia-5 twonky5old
mkdir twonkymedia-5
cd twonkymedia-5
wget http://www.twonkyforum.com/downloads/6.0 .38/twonkymedia-powerpc-glibc-2.2.5-6.0.38.zip
unzip twonkymedia-powerpc-glibc-2.2.5-6.0.38.zip
mv /usr/local/sbin/writeTwonkyContentDir.sh /usr/local/sbin/writeTwonkyContentDir.sh.old
reboot
The problem is that I am get stuck at the line:
mv / usr / local / sbin / writeTwonkyContentDir.sh / usr / local / sbin / writeTwonkyContentDir.sh.old
Excerpt from my Putty:
MyBookLive usr/local/twonkymedia-5 :/ # mv / usr / local / sbin / writeTwonkyContentDir.sh / usr / local / sbin / writeTwonkyContentDir.sh.old
mv: can not stat `/ usr / local / sbin / writeTwonkyContentDir.sh ': No such file or directory
How I understand the file can not be created which has the unfortunate consequence that nothing works.
After 2 hours of the experiment and the thinning of the Internet, I hope someone can give me a hint how the whole somehow get back to work.
Thanks in advance

Look at what the instructions say and what you entered.
There must be no spaces between the elements of a file path name.

Re: WD My Book Live: Problem with the update of twonky
I think the syntax was right that i use in puppy.
The errors cames only from copy it in the post.
mv /usr/local/sbin/writeTwonkyContentDir.sh /usr/local/sbin/writeTwonkyContentDir.sh.old
**********************UPDATE************************
An additional two hours have passed
... I'm using WinSCP to copied the backup folder twonky5old back into twonkymedia-5.
But it's still not work!
What can I do more than restore the original state?

Re: WD My Book Live: Problem with the update of twonky
Try and restore to the original state. Then follow the instructions here-
http://community.wdc.com/t5/My-Book-Liv ... 0541#M8949
There are many other instructions on this thread that are just wrong. Particularly examples with spaces between the elements of path names.
I have never encountered a problem copying Putty session output into a post so suspect the problem is elsewhere.
PS. In your original post the cannot stat message means the source file does not exist or you do not have permission to access the file. You are logging in as root I hope?

Re: WD My Book Live: Problem with the update of twonky
So, i restore the original state. (It's still not working)
Then I follow the instruction.
But I use for wget http://www.twonkyforum.com/downloads/6. ... 6.0.39.zip
the current version http://www.twonkyforum.com/downloads/7. ... -7.0.5.zip
I think i doesn't matter, because the older version isn't also working but I have already a lincense for the current version.
Error 1:
MyBookLive:/usr/local/twonkymedia-5# mv /usr/local/sbin/writeTwonkyContentDir.sh /usr/local/sbin/writeTwonkyContentDir.sh.old
mv: cannot stat `/usr/local/sbin/writeTwonkyContentDir.sh': No such file or directory
-->With WinSCP i made a backup of writeTwonkyContentDir.sh and renamed it in writeTwonkyContentDir.sh.old
Error 2:
After reboot Putty brings me that error:
PuTTy Fatal Error
Server unexpectelly closed network connection
But I think it's normal because I reboot the system
Error 3:
-No connection to "NAS IP":9000/config
-and nothing work
Do you have a idea where is the error?
PS Sure I was logging in as root. Do you think it's a question about filerights?
Then I follow the instruction.

Re: WD My Book Live: Problem with the update of twonky
OK let's restart here. I just I just noticed that the title of your post is My Book Live but in your initial post you say you have a My Book World. These are two different devices with different hardware and OS configurations. So which is it you have?
For future reference here are the WD community support forums-
My Book World- http://community.wdc.com/t5/My-Book-Wor ... /mbw_world
My Book Live- http://community.wdc.com/t5/My-Book-Live/bd-p/mb_live
You might get better responses over there once you figure out which device you have.
