Cannot activate from QNAP NAS

Post by Beemer » Mon Feb 08, 2016 12:24 pm

When I try to use Twonky app 8.2.0.0 from my QNAP NAS I get a message saying server at 127.0.0.1:9000 "authentication required". It shows the correct NAS name and asks for user name and password. I enter my NAS login user name and password (I am the administrator) but the authentication page returns to blank.

How do I get past this stage or remove authentication requirement?

Ian

My original post was on the 8th Feb and no reply. Is the forum always this quiet?

Anyhow I figured it out myself. You must login to Qnap using the admin user name. Then login to Twonky with admin and the same password you used for admin. You can then go to Twonky settings and remove the existing User name and password. Make sure that multiuser is not selected. Then make sure that you add your QNAP user name to the Twonky name list. My Twonky only had admin and guest and I had already logged on Windows and QNAP NAS using my (missing) user name
