Picture size too small on LG UHD-TV -> Solved

Post by hdriezen » Thu Dec 12, 2019 9:38 am

Hi,

I am running Twonky Server 8.5.1 on a WD MyBookLive and it is running fine, except for just one thing. When I browse pictures on my LG 55C9 UHD TV, the pictures are shown small and centered. The top left of the TV screen shows this info: 0bytes, 1613x1079.
The Media Receiver Type in the Devices-tab on the Security-page of the Twonky Settings is 'LG TV'.

I have tried the following:
- Change the picture resolution in the Twonky Server Settings. Tried several different settings, but it does not make any difference.
- Edited the file LG_Device.xml in /usr/local/twonky/resources/devicedb/LG. This part looks like it scales images:
<Capabilities>
<Scaling>
<Target>JPEG1920x1080</Target>
</Scaling>
</Capabilities>
Changing this to other values or removing the <Target>-line also had no effect.

Funny thing is, I updated Twonky from version 5.1.9 and that version did not have this problem! I updated because 5.1.9 did not keep its configuration after a reboot.

If someone has any suggestions I'd be very pleased!

Thanks,

Hans Driezen

Problem solved, it was not Twonky, it was a very unlogical (and probably translated the wrong way around) setting in the TV...
