uNSLUng text editor capable of UTF-16?

Post by quidam » Thu Jul 19, 2007 3:02 am

Sorry about the cross-post, but things have changed around here and all the history is gone, search = useless, so I'm stumbling for now.

What text editor under uNSLUng can handle the UTF-16 ini?

I've tried vi and nano. Niether presents usefully. Furthermore, they behave differently dependin on whether I've telnetted in from Windows or Linux!?! But niether does the biz. Windows editors over samba fail the "save" attempt. What a PISSER!

help?

What program do you use to telnet to your box ?
Some telnet client suck and garble output. You could try putty or cygwin which are pretty good. VI should do the job AFAIK, it's still is one of the most powerful editors out there.
