Buffalo Nas and Twonky /telnet connection

I just purchased the Buffalo Terastation Live (1TB) and loaded all my songs on it. Unfortunately I am unable to play those songs from my Soundbridge media player. No matter what I do with PCast, it simply does not work.

Quite a few people have suggested I use Twonky on the Buffalo. I am fine with that, but how do I get it on the Buffalo? When I download the NAS version of Twonky for the Buffalo and follow all steps, it says it cannot open a Telnet connection on the Buffalo. Any ideas on how to solve this? How can I arrange for a Telnet connection on my Buffalo so I can downlaod Twonky for the Buffalo.

Please note I am completely ignorant where technology is involved so if it involves hacking, I am afraid I am out. Hope you are able to help.

Definition of 'hacking' is relative. ;)

You'll need to 'open' up the Live with telnet first, make a few easy entries to put things in the proper place, then run Twonky's PRO NASinstaller (not Live). Directions are here:

Ok, I will follow your definition then and see if I can make it work. It sounds complicated, but I have seen other people posting that it really is quite simple. Thanks for the help.

And.....was it really "quite simple"!? (Open telnet on Link Station Live / Pro)!?

- Do you use the acp_commander.jar (java -jar acp_commander.jar -t <IP> -o )!?
- Do you still use the addons.tar (tar -C / -xzvf /mnt/disk1/share/addons.tar); where is it good for!?

I guess, telnet is the only thing you'll need for the NasSetup, or!?

I will be able to tel you beginning December. I am moving house and have decided to have an IT guy take a look at it when the server and my whole IT environment has been installed at the new house.....
