Increasing available memory for TV on TS Live

Post by wdeertz » Mon Oct 08, 2007 12:54 am

I have a Terastation Live 2TB which is loaded with about 1TB of media files. This comprises about 140,000 m4a, 8,000 Jpeg and 200 mp4 files. I was able to get TV installed on the TS Live but at the status page it shows only 40,000KB of memory available for the server. This isn't enough memory for me to load up all of my media files.

Is there anyway that I can increase the amount of memory available for the server? I think I need about 120,000KB to allow me to load up all of my media files in the database.

I was able to increase the number of media files loaded into the database by reverting to simple navigation from the advanced navigation. I am able to load up about 130,000 of my music files but am left with about 10,000 music files and 8,000 jpeg's that I can not load into the 40,000k available for the server. If I can somehow squeeze another 10,000k of memory I should be able to fully load my media.

Surely there must be a way to delete unused applications so I can squeeze a few extra kb of memory. I am a linux noobie so am uncertain what to do. I've tried to do a search and can't seem to find anything on this subject. All suggestions appreciated.
