Full Twonky 4.3 on Lacie ethernet disc mini - IT NOW WORKS
I finally made Twonky work on my Lacie too. I got a couple of files from the Lacie support guys - and WOW: I now have full access to the Twonky 4.3 version. Send me a post - and I'll e-mail you the two files you need.
Kos
PS: REMEMBER TO INFORM ME OF YOUR E-MAIL WHEN YOU POST ME - ONLY HALF OF YOU REMEMBER THIS MINOR DETAIL...(I have tried to upload to two files here... doesn't work because of file type)

@peste19: No downgrade here... I already had the Lacie latest firmware installed (v1.1.1) and I think TwonkyVision 4.4 is running on that one... I'm not sure...
Thank you very much Kos! Everything works great now!
I have acces to the TwonkyVision and I can set several values to make the media server work again.
Seems like the shell around the TwonkyVision (by Lacie) does not work that well... It seems that there was a problem defining the folders from the Lacie Interface, because I could delete the undefined folders from the TwonkyVision web interface, and now it works again...
Hopefully Lacie will provide a official TwonkyVision release and access to its web interface.
But still....What will happen if a new firmware from Lacie needs to be installed? Will the TwonkyVision web interface still work?

here is says that its 4.3 http://www.lacie.com/us/support/drivers ... m?id=10105 and besides when i go to my admin area it says there on the top 4.3 what happens when you install the 4.2?
peste - did you get the files from me? if not, post me your e-mail address - maybe my files are better! I am running 4.3 on my Lacie after updating with the two files (and 4.3 is also what Lacie SAYS it should be on their site so I am very satisfied).
Actually, I am running 4.4 on my MSS+ and the Lacie is MUCH faster. But that's another story!

Erh... 4.3 is maximum on Lacie - don't go any further. The 1.1.1 update for Lacie only allows for 4.3.
On my MSS+ I have no limitations - and 4.4 is best right now. The beta versions closing in on 4.5 (4.4.1-2-3...) are not stable.

This thread is very confusing, from what I understand the latest Lacie firmware is v1.1.1, which includes Twonky 4.3. This does not support the PS3 properly and will only play MP3, MPEG1/2 files.
I e-mailed Lacie asking when they would include the latest Twonky server software. After a few replies, Lacie eventually sent me two files, the Twonky Admin page and Twonky Server software 4.4.2. I installed it on the understanding that it was untested software and it worked just fine with v1.93 of the PS3 firmware. It wasn't until the subsequent Sony updates v2.0 (fixed in v2.01) and now v2.10 that streaming problems materialised.
The latest Twonky software is 4.4.3 RC3.

Gosh, peste! That's what I call impatience Or courage!
Lacie is FINALLY open for the FULL Twonky 4.3 and you rush in and update the Lacie with a beta version (4.4.2) NOT made for Lacie at all. At Twonky's download site (with the beta versions) it's clear what NAS'es they support with updates - and Lacie is not one of them.
I don't know how you reverse the update... what happens if you update your Lacie with the CORRECT Twonky file (4.3) from Lacie (the one I e-mailed you) - no luck? Too late?
Kos
PS: Oh - I now learn about the Twonky 4.4.2 for Lacie. But as reported by many in this forum the beta versions of 4.5 are not stable. The Twonky file I received yesterday from Lacie let's me open 4.3 on my Lacie after updating to 1.1.1. And it works perfectly. I only use my NAS'es for music streaming.

Kos I think you are a little confused the Lacie firmware 1.1.1 includes Twonky 4.3.* (not sure which minor version number) this is old and does not support the PS3. I think the 4.3. you are referring to is 4.4.3. which is now at release candidate 3 and is the 'latest' available but not official.
peste19. If I open the Twonky Admin page in my browser I can alter all the available settings in there no problems.

Nope - it's the 4.3.
The Lacie system software 1.1.1 INCLUDES 4.3. But you get NO access to Twonky with 1.1.1 alone. What's new is the extra file that finally allows you to access the administration page. Great! I am so grateful about this development.
I've had Twonky on my MSS+ for a couple of years (currently 4.4 - I will not touch the beta versions at the moment!) with full access. The administration page of 4.3 on my Lacie looks very much like my 4.4. But I am not a PS3 user!

That's strange as when I just installed the Twonky Admin page with 4.3 It didn't make any difference, the PS3 would not play WMA or AVC files, that's with v1.93 firmware. With 4.3 I noticed in the client list that the PS3 was not listed and the PS3 had been recognised as a 'generic media client'. It wasn't until Lacie sent me Twonky 4.4.2 that the PS3 was listed and from then on everything worked fine.

my problem is when i access http://edmini:9000 i get a page and on my left side i only got like a house symbol no options and on the middle i got videos, music and pictures... in what order did you install the updates? thanks
Apparantly Lacie har sent the beta 4.4.2 to PS3 people like you. I only asked for help to make me access the 4.3 version embedded in the 1.1.1 software - and the file did just that!
I'm a music streamer - and the embedded Lacie-Twonky really lacked a very important music node/tree feature. In the normal Twonky music navigation when choosing - let's say Rolling Stones - you are able to make the server list all the albums with Rolling Stones. THEN you select the album you like - and hit play. Simple logic. In the embedded Lacie-Twonky - when choosing Rolling Stones - you get ALL the songs directly (no album layer in between). NOT smart if you don't remember the album title - and you seldom do - often you only remember the artist name. This problem is fixed within seconds when you have full Twonky access (the album layer is easily inserted in the navigation) - so again: I'm very grateful for finally getting access.

I was sent the twonky Admin Page first by Lacie, therefore this was installed first. As this did not solve the non-support of WMA and AVC files, they then sent me Twonky server software, which was then installed. You should be able to see a large list of selectable items down the left-hand side of the page. If there is no list, I'm not sure what the problem is. You could contact Lacie and ask for advice!peste19 wrote:my problem is when i access http://edmini:9000 i get a page and on my left side i only got like a house symbol no options and on the middle i got videos, music and pictures... in what order did you install the updates? thanks

Glad it's finally sorted for you. I take it that you must have Twonky 4.4.2 installed, if that is the version number shown on the Twonky admin page.peste19 wrote:if i install the firmware from lacie it installs the 4.3 again but yerterday i start messing around and got the to the settings of 4.4.2 and it works great i can finally stream to my ps3 without any problems
Hopefully, when Twonky sort out DivX support for the PS3, LaCie will update their firmware. We live in hope!
This is weird. I installed the 1.1.1 firmware on my EDMini a few months ago, which upgraded to Twonky 4.3. Not sure if I tried to access the config page through :9000 after the upgrade, but I think I did and got the red screeen.
A week ago it suddenly started announcing itself as "[EDMini] TwonkyMedia by Twonkyvision" on my Roku SB instead of just "EDMini". Didn't think much about it, it still worked OK.
Yesterday I could connect, but got no reply when I tried to browse. I went into the Lacia Media Server config and saw that it had scanned 900 000 songs. I tried to do a rebuild database and restart server, but after this the scan stopped working. No matter what it would scan 0 songs. Then I got the bright idea to try with :9000, and to my amazement the Twonky config dialog was there. The media folder didn't look right, this is probably why it wouldn't scan. I changed it and now it's working.
What happened? I haven't changed any files. I'm happy, but concerned that it will break.

Hello!
I am new in this forum and first wanna say hello!
SO now i come to my question:
How can i make an Firmwareupdate of the EDmini?
I cant find an option to select a file in the webinterface.
All i can choose is the option to look for updates on the internet.
Reason why i want to update:
They say that twonky has the Listing "Interpret/Album" but i cant find that on my noxon. So i want to install the TwonkyServer Webinterface (dont know what i can do with it but i will see).
There are several other questions on that disc, maybe you can help me.
---Is there an Option to put the HDD itself in Standby?
---Is 2MB/s apprx. upload Speed normal?
---If I write "http://edmini:9000" into my browser i will be linked to "http://board.gulli.com/thread/754747-la ... e-problem/"
so i always have to enter the IP, then I am routed to http://www.homelacie.com.
Is there no option to be connected to the disc directly without the internet?
---Can i dissable the option of filesharing on the Internet? I just want it in the LAN as Mediaserver and Fileserver (SMB).
Questions over Questions....
So hope you can help me

It does not work for me anymore now...
I also installed the file from Kos for getting access to the TwonkyVision Web interface (port 9000).
It work great the first couple of weeks, but now it does not work anymore.
I've rebooted / restarted the twonkyvision and rebuild the database several times, but it cannot show me the files when I click on the MediaBrowser Icon of the Web Interface (at port 9000).
When I look at the information tab and the log file (see troubleshooting link in the menu on the left of the Twonkyvision web interface at port 9000), it does find several files, but when clicking on the MediaBrowser (http://edmini:9000) it does not show me any files for video, photo's or music.
That sucks! I'm getting really tired of this thing...
Yesterday I tried to re-install the firmware (version 1.1.1) from the lacie website, but it did not help at all...
Anyone having the same probs?

Same here for me. I don't use the media browser though, so I'm happy as long as it serves up my Soundbridge OK. It's weird though that things keep changing. Remember, I haven't installed the files from Kos, I got access to the config page without doing anything special other than Lacie FW 1.1.1.M.J. wrote:Same problem here. I have answered you now.
I haven't used my Lacie since December 31th so I don't know if the full access is still on. It's placed in my summer home (internal streaming, no internet) - I can't see why it should suddenly stop functioning. However, years of streaming has taught me that "strange things happen"! On my MSS+ the full Twonky has ALWAYS worked.
Someone should e-mail this thread to Lacie support!
Happy new year.

The upgrade work very good!
When I accessed to the Twonky configuration page I set a password/name in order to lock the configuration page. But now I can't log on it ! I'm sure I didn't forgot the password/name.
Maybe I think this problem come from the special letters I used for my password/name, I used "é" (I'm french ) and also "@".
What do you think? Do you have an idea ?
I hope i don't have to reset my server(I aldready done it before for the same problem with the Edmini configuration page password with "é" and it sucks )
Thanks everybody and good night for me!

Here's the response from Lacie
Thank you for contacting LaCie Technical Support. Any updates needed for the Ethernet Disk (including Twonky updates) will be in an updater package available on our download page. Unfortunately at this time we do not have an ETA of when the next update will be available. I will pass your request along to the product manager.
Please keep checking our download page for all of the latest updates.
Anyone still have the files that they would be willing to send my way?

Please keep checking our download page for all of the latest updates.
Anyone still have the files that they would be willing to send my way?

Kos thanks again for sending me the files. Unfortunately they didn't work for me. Where before I could get into the twonky-gui, after installing the smaller of files you sent me I got the red screen, forbidding entry to Twonky. I didn't have time to wait, as you advised, though....
Tired of it all I decided to throw away all updates and, lo and behold, now I'm back to 1.0.8, the files on my LaCie are visible from my Philips SLA 5520, which they weren't before. As I only need to stream music, this works for me.
