Hello,
Does anyone know how I can install Twonky on my Synology DS-108j?
I can see install files for several Synology models but not the exact one that I have.
Any advice is appreciated,
Chip

Sorry for bumping this old topic, but have you had any luck installing Twonky on your DS-108j?
What version did you use and are you happy with it?

Thanks in advance,
Jeroen.

you must take the DS106j package. This works fine on the DS108j.
Start the nas.exe file from your PC and keep the root pw ready. The installation goes without any trouble.

Obi

You're right. Just remember to install the Telnet-patch from Synology and turn of your Windows firewall during installation. :D
After installation I can see the Twonky process running on my DiscStation. I'm just not able to reach the config-page (<ip>:5000) and my audio player can't find the service over the network. It does however see the original DiscStation uPnP Media service.....
Any suggestions?

What version you (try to) install!? 4.x or still 5.x!? I also try and copy the nas.exe from 4.4.9 / 4.4.6 to the 5.x linux-version directory but still no luck. The same here - twonky is running but not reachable and no reply on any port (5000, 5001, 5002,...)

btw: have Synology Diskastation DS-107+

I installed the DS-106J version (4.4.11) from http://www.twonkyforum.com/unsupported/4.4.11/ on my DS-108j.
After installation resulted in a running twonky process, but no way of reaching my media or the config-pages, I searched the Synology forum and stumbled upon this post: http://www.synology.com/enu/forum/viewt ... dia#p46252.
Basically you just run nassetup.exe again, but with the option "Remove old server" switched off..
Also: turn of your firewall during the installation (both times!).
Now I've got it running on port 9000 (default port for twonky, 5000 is used by DiscStation)

ok...in older; earlier versions I detect the same problems; installing from my Vista Client the directories (cgi-bin, plugins, resources) won't copy to the NAS. After manually copy these files into the directories on the nas and reboot it worked. Perhaps the same problem with the Nassetup.exe (installer) 4.4.11!?

I guess, switching off the option "Remove old server"- is not recommended.

I will try this today...thanks!
