Hi all

Has anybody ever tried to install twonky on a server with the "Freenas" software? I'd wonder which version you installed and how it worked?! I'd be glad if somebody had a user manual because I don't really know much about Linux-based software.. by the way, freenas should support Unix as far as I know...

Thanks in advance for any reply.
Cheers

Somebody has any experience in Twonky Media Server in FreeNAS (FreeBSD) ?

I am planning to use Twonky with FreeNAS and all information are welcome.

Thx in advance,

Well,
one explanation why nobody answeres simply is that freeNAS is based on freeBSD and not Linux.
These are completely differend operationsystems (the only commonality is that both are unix derivatives).
To my knowledge there is no twonky build for freeBSD ...

... and why isn't there one?

FreeNAS is very rapidly growing in popularity in both enterprise and HOME environments. More and more people are having FreeNAS boxes as their home storage solution. I really believe that they would appreciate a FreeNAS plugin version of the Twonky server (me included!).

I bought a license to Twonky to use on my D-Link DNS-320L and I am now in the process of moving my storage to a larger FreeNAS based solution. Naturally I would like to re-create the services I had on the D-Link on the new Storage...

So if there can be a list of people wanting a FreeNAS/FreeBSD build of Twonky, put me on it :)

Me too. Twonky is so much more reliable and easy to administer than either Plex or MediaBrowser.
