mkv playback on WD MyBook NAS with TwonkyMedia Server 5.1

Hi there!
I recently upgraded the firmware on my WD MyBook World Edition I to "01.01.16 with MioNet 2.4.0.62" which includes an upgrade to TwonkyMedia Server version 5.1. Previous firmware I believe included a 4.4.* version of TwonkyMedia Server.
Before the upgrade I was able to stream *.mkv files from my LG BD390 (network enabled blu-ray player) and all other devices such as my Mac, Ubuntu and PC. However, since the upgrade I am no longer able to stream such files. On my PC, my browser prompts me to download the file, and my LG BD390 shows a blank black page upon requesting playback (after a while the BD390 simply crashes/shuts down).
I have tried to rename the file extensions without success. The files either do not appear in the list nor is playback possible.
Any idea how I can get my matroska files to play again?
Much appreciated,
Andreas
