Twonky 6.0.32 on GigaNAS config problem - please help

First of all sorry for my bad english (supported by google)

I`ve instaled TwonkyNAS 6.0.32 on GigaNAS. But there is one simple problem with which i can not cope.
When i restart whole NAS every settings that i configured last session just gone (shared area, admin permision etc.)

I even write simple script that run Twonky with NAS start couse it wasn`t (its a quite bit challenge for me couse i`m linux newbie, knowing DOS make it simpler ) but still nothing.

Does anyone has idea what to do to get this working right,

It is most probably caused because you are allowing Twonky to create its data in the /var directory. This is the default, but most NAS devices reset this directory when rebooted so the Twonky data gets erased.

What you need to do is create a directory somewhere on the disk that will not be removed after a reboot. (I don't know how the GigaNAS mounts its drives, so can't tell you where). This will be where Twonky can permanently store its application data.

Then in the command you use to start Twonky add the -appdata option followed by the path to the directory you just created. So in my case (but it is not a GigaNAS) the start command is-
/usr/twonkymedia_6032/twonkymedia -D -appdata /share/1000/twonkymedia6.db
Where-
/usr/twonkymedia_6032/twonkymedia - is the location of the Twonky executable
/share/1000/twonkymedia6.db - is the location where Twonky is told to store its data

-D means daemonize, i.e. run in the background.

No, the database is not normally rebuilt on a restart except when the database is removed during the reboot.

But Twonky will do a rescan when restarted. It is just checking that the database is still consistent with the files/directories being shared. There could have been directories/files added/deleted/changed while Twonky was not running so it needs to rescan everything and reflect these changes in the database. The rescan typically takes a lot less time than the initial database build.

Just as an FYI, many people think that the rescan is rebuilding the database. In my experience it is not, Twonky is just modifying the database (if necessary) to reflect changes to the shared directories/files.

Just a question: which package (twonky 6.x.x) do you donwload to intall into GigaNas 35HD-DUAL-NAS-E ?
