Warning: Possible overflow in IP Interface detection.

Post by mikefox » Fri Jun 08, 2007 12:45 pm

Hi,

running Twonky 4.3 on Gentoo Linux with multiple NICs installed.
The IP Address of my main NIC is configured in Twonky.

After starting Twonky the server is running fine, but the message:
Warning: Possible overflow in IP Interface detection.
is repeatedly displayed on the console.

# netstat -lnp | grep media
tcp 0 0 192.168.168.41:9000 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 6597/twonkymediaser
udp 0 0 192.168.168.41:1900 0.0.0.0:* 6597/twonkymediaser
udp 0 0 239.255.255.250:1900 0.0.0.0:* 6597/twonkymediaser
udp 0 0 192.168.168.41:9080 0.0.0.0:* 6597/twonkymediaser

I get also these warnings.
I have only one NIC installed, but use three virtual devices...

It IS a issue of virtual network devices. Shut down the virtual devices and the problem should be gone.

I have the same problem on my suse 9.3 machine which has several virtual network devices. I sent a bug-ticket when 4.3 beta was running. The support could't reproduce the problem, but on these days i didn't know the relation between virtul devices and twonkyserver. Nevertheless the twonkyserver runs and there are no other problems on my machine.
